The Mathematics Division of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science offers a wide range of mathematical specializations in research and teaching, with both applied and pure mathematics equally represented.
Our study courses include degree programs (B.Sc., M.Sc.) in mathematics and business mathematics, as well as teacher study courses (B.A., M.Ed.) for grammar schools, comprehensive schools, and vocational colleges.
In addition, the department is closely involved in numerous interdisciplinary collaborations within the university, including with medicine, physics and geosciences. The department makes central contributions to the university's core profile areas "Intelligent Methods for Earth System Sciences" and "Dynamics of the Universe" and to the cluster of excellence “DYNAVERSE - Our Dynamic Universe”.
