Algebra & Number Theory

Algebra

The research of the Cologne Algebra Group focuses on representation theory of rings and algebras as well as on general aspects of homological algebra. Our group's research distinguishes itself through its interactions with other areas of mathematics, such as Geometry, Topology and Mathematical Physics. For example, the close connections between representation theory of algebras and Fukaya categories, which are objects of symplectic geometry, are heavily investigated by members of the group.
