Mentorship

1. in addition to their supervisors, all doctoral candidates also choose (at least) one mentor from among the members of GraMatIK who are authorized to supervise doctoral candidates, who also advises the doctoral candidate during the doctorate and, if necessary, serves as a point of contact in the event of conflicts or other difficulties. Care must be taken to ensure that at least one mentor is not directly dependent on the supervisor in terms of employment law.

2. the supervisor and the mentor(s) form the individual Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC) for the doctoral student.

3. in addition, all doctoral students write an annual report on the current status and progress of their work. This report serves as the basis for discussions with the mentor.
